Davies Timber – Shopify Ecommerce Website
Davies Timber is a long-established timber merchant with more than 100 years of experience, supplying a wide range of timber and landscaping products to trade and retail customers.
The team approached Maxim for help creating a modern ecommerce website that would make their extensive product range easier to browse and buy online, while providing a much better experience for customers using the site on desktop and mobile.
As part of our digital consulting services, we worked closely with Simon and the Davies Timber team to understand how the business operates, how customers shop for their products and what they needed from their new ecommerce platform.
Building a new Shopify website
With a large catalogue covering timber and cladding, decking, landscaping products and bespoke machining services, Davies Timber needed an ecommerce platform that could accommodate a diverse product range while remaining straightforward for both customers and the internal team to use.
We recommended Shopify and worked with Davies Timber to create a clean, modern Shopify ecommerce website designed around their products and customers.
The project focused on improving the structure and navigation of the website, simplifying the customer journey and making it easier for visitors to find the products and information they need. The new site also needed to support the practical requirements of the business, including local delivery and customer collection.
As with our other Shopify migration and replatforming projects, the work wasn't simply about moving products onto a different ecommerce platform. It was an opportunity to look at the whole customer experience and create a website that would be easier to manage and better suited to the company's future ecommerce needs.
A more modern ecommerce experience
The result is a significantly more modern online presence for Davies Timber, combining the flexibility and ecommerce functionality of Shopify with a clean design that lets the company's products take centre stage.
It was particularly enjoyable working with Simon and the team, learning about a business with such a long history and translating their requirements into a practical ecommerce website.
