It has been a joy working with Paul and Mel to help build and launch their website. They have three great holiday cottages in Wedmore, Somerset as well as a VW Campervan and Motorhome for hire.
After moving to Somerset with their young family, Paul and Mel have used their entrepreneurial and marketing skills to create their lovely holiday let business. Design
As a holiday let business, we designed the website to showcase each accommodation option and its idyllic surroundings. The beautiful cottages and van hires each have a customised page, promoting their wonderful interiors and facilities.
Functionality
The Squarespace website’s main function is to allow guests to book their stay and make payments. We made sure that these features were as accessible and straightforward as possible by integrating Lodgify for each rental, which allows for simple availability search, direct booking, and easy payment.
Information
Detailing what Somerset has to offer was another factor we had to consider with this specific website. Making sure it included a wealth of information about the area - places to visit, things to do, and where to eat and drink - was important to help guests make the most of their stay.
Calendar Sync
For a holiday let website, one of the challenges is trying to organise a central place to record all bookings when accommodation is advertised in several different places. We managed this by creating bespoke connections syncing all bookings from the website, Airbnb, and other channels to one central calendar.
Social Media and Reviews
With this type of online business promoting a beautiful experience in overnight accommodation, the social media channels and reviews are integral. Bluebell Farm Somerset already had a strong following on Instagram so we worked to maintain their successful aesthetic and embed all their previous reviews from other platforms.
